At Robert F Tanne DMD PA we are often asked what parents can do to relieve their child’s discomfort during teething. Sore gums are bound to result from erupting teeth between 6 months and 3 years of age and the discomfort often lasts a few days at a time. Dr. Robert Tanne suggests offering a cool, clean teeth ring, chilled spoon or toothbrush to your child. You can also rub a clean finger or cool, wet washcloth on the sore gums to relieve your child’s discomfort.
You are not alone. If you are concerned about your child’s teething, please call Robert F Tanne DMD PA in Atlantic Highlands, (855) 232-6954.
Brush Your Teeth Daily!
For good oral health, brush your teeth twice a day with a good fluoride toothpaste!
How Old Is Your Toothbrush?
Replace your toothbrush every 3 or 4 months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won't do a good job of cleaning your teeth.
A Healthy Diet Makes a Healthy Smile!
For healthy teeth and gums, eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks. Go easy on sugary treats!
